Short version: Lyrimuse is free software under GPL-3.0. There is no account and nothing to pay for or subscribe to. It is provided as is, by one person, with no warranty. Lyrics come from third-party sources and belong to their rights holders.
1 What you are agreeing to
By downloading, installing or using Lyrimuse (the app) or this website, you accept the terms below. If you don't accept them, don't use the app. Lyrimuse is kept by one developer (Yudaotor); there is no company, no support contract and no service level.
2 Licence
The software is licensed under the GNU General Public License version 3. That licence, not this page, governs your rights to use, study, modify and redistribute the code. Where anything here seems to conflict with the GPL, the GPL wins.
You are free to build it from source. Official builds are published only on the project's GitHub Releases and through its Homebrew tap. Builds from anywhere else aren't ours, and we can't vouch for them.
3 No warranty
The app is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. This mirrors sections 15 and 16 of the GPL-3.0, which apply in full.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any damage, data loss or other loss arising from using the app. It is a tool for showing lyrics; treat it as one.
4 Lyrics and other third-party content
Lyrimuse doesn't write lyrics. It looks them up from public third-party sources and shows them on your own Mac, the way a browser shows you a page. Copyright in lyrics, artwork and track information stays with the rights holders.
The app is meant for personal use, alongside music you already have access to. You are responsible for using it lawfully where you are, and for following the terms of the services you use with it, including Apple Music, Spotify, KKBOX, Amazon Music, QQ Music, NetEase Cloud Music, Kugou, Soda Music, YouTube Music, Last.fm and ListenBrainz.
If you hold rights to something the app shows and want to raise it, open an issue and it will be looked at.
5 Third-party services can change or break
The app depends on services nobody here controls. A lyric source can change its interface, limit requests or disappear, and a music app can change how it reports what is playing. When that happens, the affected feature may stop working until the project catches up. No availability or accuracy is promised, and matched lyrics can simply be wrong.
6 No affiliation
Lyrimuse is an independent open-source project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Apple, Tencent (QQ Music), NetEase (NetEase Cloud Music), Kugou, Kuwo, Douyin (Soda Music), KKBOX, Amazon (Amazon Music), China Mobile (Migu Music), Spotify, Discord, the Kaset project, Google (YouTube Music, Google Translate), Last.fm, ListenBrainz, MusicBrainz, Musixmatch, LRCLIB, LyricFind, Deezer, Naver (VIBE), KT (Genie), AMLL, the LX Music and reAMP projects or SponsorBlock. Names and trademarks belong to their owners and appear here only to say which players, lyric sources and services the app works with.
7 Privacy
How the app handles data, and exactly which servers it contacts, is set out in the Privacy Policy.
8 This website
These pages are provided for information, as is. The comparison page says which date its claims were checked on. Software changes, so treat anything there as accurate as of that date.
9 Changes
These terms may be updated, with the date at the top changed to match. Every revision is visible in the repository's public history. Using the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
